As many of you know, I've been working for REI for over eight years now. In that time, REI created a 501(c)3 known as the REI Cooperative Action Fund. The fund allows REI to give grants to non-profit organizations at the national, regional, and local levels - organizations that get people outdoors and help preserve the outdoors. Even my store is able to determine local organizations and work with them for grants and support.

Whereas we offer customers and members the opportunities to donate to our Fund when they check out, I'm using this option to also raise funds through my personal efforts. Donating to the Action Fund means all sort of folks get outdoors - maybe the grants go towards gear, or payroll to keep the organization going.
